DeGroff Construction is a residential contractor working out of Moyie Springs. We frame and finish houses, raise log and timber structures, put up shops and outbuildings, and take on remodels and additions across Boundary County and the north end of Bonner County.

Mike DeGroff started in the trade in 2001 — building trusses, then a lumberyard, framing and steel before going back to houses.

Most of what we do comes by word of mouth — one neighbor telling another. If somebody sent you here, the pictures below are the work they were talking about.

Log & timber

Trusses cut in the shop, raised on site.

Log and heavy‑timber work is the part of this trade most crews around here send out. We don't. Trusses and bents get laid out and cut in the shop, fitted dry, then hauled and set — scissor trusses, king posts, entry structures, porte‑cocheres, exposed rafter ceilings.

Joinery is cut to fit the timber it's going into, not to a catalog. That takes longer. It also stands up, stays tight, and looks like somebody meant it.

Site work through roof. We stay on the job from the excavation to the day it's weather‑tight, and most of the time straight through the finish carpentry after that.
